Chapter 5: Time for a Celebration!

 

Luke's Place is jumping when Sonny and Alexis show up. Sonny notices
Mike behind the bar talking with Jason and Gina. Kevin and Lucy are
sitting at one of the tables enjoying their dinner. AJ and Keesha are
sitting with Justus, Dara, and Garcia. Luke and Laura walk in right
behind Sonny and Alexis. Sonny grabs a table for the four of them

Sonny walks over to the bar and whispers something in Mike's ear. Mike
nods and proceeds to turn off the music.

Sonny raises his voice so he can be heard."Excuse me everyone, I'd like
to have your attention." He waits for the room to become silent. "I
have an announcement to make. Alexis will you come over here, darling?"
Alexis gets up and takes his hand. "First, I want to say how much I
love this wife of mine. " Alexis blushes as she kisses him on the mouth.
"We have wonderful news. Alexis is pregnant and soon I'll be a Pop!"
Sonny beams at his friends and family. Mike is the first to
congratulate them.

Mike grabs Sonny and gives him a bear hug. "Son, I can't believe it!
This is wonderful news! " Mike hugs Alexis more gently. "I couldn't be
happier for you both. Alexis, you have made my son very happy. I know
how much he loves you. I can't believe it! I'm going to be a Grandpa!"
Mike has tears in his eyes.

Alexis beams back at him. "Thank you Mike. You know how happy your son
makes me. You're going to be a wonderful Grandpa. Expect us to use you
as a babysitter!"

Luke and Laura walk over to Alexis and Sonny.

Luke breaks into the conversation. "Mike, you can't hog the happy couple
all night!" Luke gives Sonny a big hug. "Hey, partner. This is great
news! So when's the baby due?"

A: "The baby's due in July."

S: "Thanks, man. I couldn't be happier. Can you tell?"

Luke: "Yeah, man. This marriage sure does agree with you. Alexis,
darlin. You've made my partner here a happy man. Thank you." He gives
her a hug as well. "You look beautiful, doll. Very beautiful." He give
her a flirtatious smile.

A: "Thank you Luke. He's made me a happy woman too. I expect you to
keep telling me I'm beautiful even when I'm as big as a house!"

Laura: "Luke, don't you go flirting with other women!" Laura turns to
Alexis and gives her hand a squeeze. "Alexis, congratulations. Feel free
to come to me with any questions. I know how scary it can be to be a
mother for the first time. "

A: "Thank you, Laura. I know I'll be taking you up on that. I already
have about a thousand questions."

Laura:"Let's plan on having lunch soon."
A: "I'd like that."

Sonny raises his voice again. "Everyone, drinks are on the house! Let's
celebrate!"

The patrons of Luke's Place give Sonny a round of applause.

Jason walks up as Luke, Laura and Mike move off to give the well-wishers
room to congratulate the couple.

Jason gives Sonny a pat on the back. "Great news, Man!"

Sonny: "Yeah! You know, I'm going to be asking you to take on more
responsibility now. I plan to devote a lot of time to my beautiful wife
and child."

J: "Sure, Sonny. I'm up for it."

S: "Oh, and I want you and Robin to get prepared. I want you both to be
Godparents!"

Jason looks surprised and a little terrified. "Are you sure? I mean I'd
be honored, but wouldn't someone else be more qualified than me?"

S:"You aren't getting out of this one, Jason. Besides, Robin will be
there to help you."

A: "Jason, Sonny and I discussed this. We both want you and Robin to be
the Godparents. Please say yes."

Jason gives Alexis a hug. "Yes, I'd be honored. Congratulations Alexis.
I know you and Sonny will make great parents."

A: "Thank you Jason."

Gina comes up and gives Sonny and Alexis hugs of congratulations.

G: "Sonny, I'm so happy for you. If anyone deserves to be happy, it's
you."

S: "Thanks, I'm happier than I ever thought possible. I have some news
I think you'll like. Alexis why don't you tell her?"

G: "What?"

A: "Sonny and I discussed this and we decided that if it's a boy, his
name will be Stone Michael Corinthos."

Gina looks shocked as tears fill her eyes. She hugs Sonny tightly.
"Thank you Sonny. Oh, I know Stone would be so honored. You have no
idea how happy this makes me."

S: "Oh, I think we do."

A: "So where is Nikolas? Is he working again? I thought the two of you
had a date tonight."

G: "He got called in at the last moment. It seems some kids came in
badly injured from a house fire. The parents were killed. So they asked
him to come in and talk with the kids. He will be so happy for you
Alexis."

A: "We're planning on going over to Wyndemere tomorrow to tell Stefan
and Nikolas."

Jason notices that Lucy and Kevin are waiting to congratulate the
couple. He puts his arms around Gina's shoulders to guide her away.

J:"How about we shoot some pool? I bet this time you'll beat me."

G: "Fat chance. Sonny, Alexis, Congratulations."
They leave to go to the back room.

Kevin and Sonny shake hands.

K:"Sonny, Alexis, this is wonderful news."

Lucy: "Oh, a baby. I can't believe it. They're popping up all over the
place. First Carly and Tony, then Jax and Brenda, now you two... oops!
Sorry! I didn't mean to bring up a sore subject. I mean, I know you are
over her and everything. And you and Alexis are totally in love....
Imagine, Sonny in love with a Cassadine. No one would have thought
that'd ever happen. Not that being a Cassadine is bad, It isn't. Oh
dear, I'm doing it again."

Kevin laughs, "Lucy, honey. Quit while you are ahead."

Sonny smiles at Lucy indulgently. "Lucy, thank you. " He gives her a
hug.

Alexis laughs. "Lucy, always a pleasure."

Lucy: "Oh good, no hard feelings then?"

Alexis and Sonny say in unison: "No hard feelings."

Kevin: "It think it's time to leave the happy couple to the rest of the
well-wishers."

Lucy: "Ok, Ta!"

Sonny and Alexis spend the next half hours talking with various
well-wishers. Mike comes up to the couple with phone in hand.

M: "Sonny, someone's on the phone for you."

Sonny takes the phone. "Hello?"

"Sonny, it's Robin."

S: "Hey, have you heard the good news?"

R: "Yes, Jason called me. Oh, Sonny, I couldn't be happier! You're
happy about this right?"

S: "Absolutely. Did Jason tell you the rest?"

R: "Yes, he did! I'd be honored to be a Godparent. He also told me
that you plan to call him Stone if it's a boy. That's wonderful! I'm
sure Stone is looking down on you and beaming with pride! He'd be so
amazed."

S: "Yeah, well I'm amazed too. So tell me, how is Yale...."

Sonny continues his conversation with Robin. Meanwhile Lucy and Kevin
are sitting at their table discussing the news.

L: "You know, I was wrong about Alexis. She seems to make Sonny very
happy. I never thought Sonny would ever get over Brenda."

K: "He didn't have a choice, Luce. Brenda got pregnant with Jax's baby
and left town. Sonny couldn't pine forever."

L: "I always figured Brenda and Sonny would get back together again. I
thought they were soulmates you know, like you and me, Doc. But I guess
they weren't. Soulmates I mean. You and I are soulmates though."

K:"Of course we are, Luce."

Luke walks up to Sonny and whispers something in his ear. Sonny nods.
Sonny raises his voice to be heard again.

Everyone, thank you for letting us share our wonderful news. The next
round is on me. Good night!"

Sonny, Alexis, Luke, and Laura leave to go to the theater.

In a hotel room we see a man with gray hair pacing. His phone rings.

"Harry Silver here. Yes, everything is under control. The plan is in
place. I'll call you when the job is done."
