GH2017.69 Reach Out And Touch Someone

Alex: (surprised) EVAN? Come in! Come in!
Evan: (entering the house he follows Alex into the living room) My supervisor told me to check in with you are soon as I arrived. I hope you were expecting me?
Maymae: (Curiously) Papa, Is this a Fed?
Alex: Mi hija, Tell your mother to set another place for dinner.
(Maymae runs to the kitchen.)
Evan: That isn't necessary.
Alex: I think it is. Mac told me you joined the FBI, but it didn't register that you might be sent.
Evan: Well, having a few ties to the community gave me a leg up on the
assignment. Before I joined the FBI, I was bumming around the world a bit. I kept running into the aftermath of the international terrorist groups. I think that's why the FBI hired me. Normally it takes a law degree or being a CPA.
Alex: You had specialized knowledge they wanted.
Evan: Exactly. As the world gets smaller and smaller, the instances of
domestic and international terrorism have increased in the US. It's kept me busy since joining the Bureau. Somehow I never thought it would come to Port Charles.
Alex: Me either and that was stupid; it isn't like we haven't had problems in the past. I think I've been putting my head in the sand. With the Cassadines and the Quartermaines based out of Port Charles, there's a strong international community here. I was expecting to have an agent show up in my office in the morning.
Evan: I swung by the office first. I didn't stop though. Did you know you have reporters doing surveillance on headquarters?
Alex: (grimacing) It doesn't surprise me. Ever since the explosion, the whole town has known that the feds would be called in.
Evan: Really?
Alex: (nodding) It was a Cassadine building. Structural or natural disaster was ruled out early.
Keesha: (coming around the corner) Evan! It's so good to see you! Of
course, I wish it were under other circumstances.
Evan: (rising as Keesha enters the living room) It's good to see you again, Keesha. Felicia has been good about keeping me up to date on the goings on here in PC
Keesha: Let's have dinner. While Maymae writes up what she saw today for school we can catch up.

Wyndemere: Laura and Stefan's suite. Laura's on the phone. Stefan is reading.
Laura: ....Lucky, that's wonderful. So she wasn't totally freaked by driving after what happened before? We really should have a party to celebrate.... No, I haven't totally lost it. I think it's a perfect time to start building in a few stress releasers. Have Georgie give me a call, maybe we can make it a surprise....okay. I'll talk to you later. Be careful... Love you too.
Stefan: I assume Carida passed her driving test?
Laura:(smiling) with Flying colors! Lucky said she settled right down once she was moving.
Stefan: And this is the reason to have a party?
Laura: (nodding) It's an American rite of passage. You turn sixteen and you get a driver's license. Kids take the day off school to take the test with their parents' blessing.
Stefan: Lesley Lu did not have such a party. (Laura walks over to Stefan and framing his face gives him a brief kiss. She moves back a step. Stefan takes her hands in his.)
Laura: We had other things going on when Lulu turned sixteen. We were
still dealing with the aftermath of Staci's kidnaping.
Stefan: (ruefully) Things are little better now. Once again the family is under siege.
Laura : (quietly but fiercely) And I won't allow our lives to be disrupted! If we give into these terrorists then they win. Take precautions yes-- but I've had enough running and hiding. Sooner of later, they catch up to you. They always do. Stefan, We need something to celebrate... relieve the stress.
Stefan: (pulling Laura on to his lap drawing her close) I always thought that Luke didn't protect you properly. That he didn't value you; he put you in danger over and over. And yet here we are. It hasn't been a happily ever after; has it, Lasha?
Laura: (punctuating the pauses with kisses)Oh I don't know... I think I got the prince... the castle... a hell of a moat...who says that fairy tales are just in books?
Stefan: And a wicked witch.
Laura: (mockingly smacking her head with her hand.) That was what we
didn't try ...She never had a house dropped on her and I wish I'd thought of throwing a bucket of water.
Stefan: (Smiling slightly) I never saw that movie before Lulu came into
the house. She'd burrow in next to me and hide her eyes when there was a scary part.
Laura: And Alexis would just stare at you in amazement the way you
spoiled her so. I still can't believe you threw Alexis into shark infested waters!
Stefan: Lasha, Sharks could have taken lessons from Helena. And the same skills used to stay alive in shark infested waters worked with that
Cassadine too: No sudden movements, don't show fear and never let her
see you bleeding.
Laura: (Shuddering) You know we've had our rocky spots over the years but finally there isn't the strife between family members. We've got trust and communication... and love.
Stefan: (drawing her close and murmuring against her face as he nears her mouth) And that has made all the difference.

In another part of Wyndemere. Nikolas is on the phone.
Nik: It's driving me crazy to have you so far away.
Brooke: The tour isn't even half over yet. I'll be home soon. Mark has been a godsend. He's made everything go smooth as silk. I've been touring since I was a baby and this is the easiest it has ever been. He's been such a good friend to me sometimes it is hard to remember that he's "the bodyguard." Mark has really taken over all the details of the tour. All I have to worry about is performing.
Nik: It sounds as if you two have gotten close.
Brooke: (laughing) It's hard not to when you're traveling in the same bus.
Nik: I think I should come out and see you.
Brooke: I'd love that! When do you think you could get away? Are you sure it's safe? (She draws away from the phone for a moment but Nikolas can still hear her clearly.) Mark, do you have a revised schedule that you could fax to Nik Cassadine? Nik? Mark is going to fax you the updated dates. That way when you come visit, we might be able to spend more than a few hours together.
Nik: (scowling) He's with you now... in your hotel room?
Brooke: Jason and Ma have us booked into suites. Except when I'm sleeping or in the bathroom, Mark has me in his sights. He takes this security thing very seriously. TOO SERIOUSLY. (Nik hears masculine laughter in the background) Listen Nik-- I have to go; we need to get to the Arena. Let me know when you can get away. I'd love to see you. Bye.
Nik: (listening to a dial tone then mutters under his breath.) Mark, Mark, Mark.

Quartermaine Gatehouse. Emily fills suitcases with clothes from the
closet. As one bag is filled, she grabs another, her moves automatic and not hurried. Each article is neatly folded and stowed. Running out of suitcases, she starts on boxes she picked up that afternoon. Moving from the closet, she starts in on the book cases separating the books and discs accumulated during a seven-year marriage. Every once in a while she pauses making a notation on a piece of paper. From down the hallway a voice can be heard...
Tommy: Emily? Em, are you here? I saw your car out front. (Emily doesn't answer. Tommy arrives at the doorway) EM? Did you hear me? What are you doing?
Emily: (not looking at him) Packing in our marriage. It's about time don't you think?
Tommy:(confused) What are you talking about?
Emily: This hasn't been working for quite awhile but you really should have told me you wanted out. It would have been the mature way to handle it.
Tommy: (angry) Who said I wanted out? (Reaching out, he grabs her arm
and turns her around to face him.) Stop it! Tell me what is going on NOW!
Emily: (shrugging out of his grip)I've been trying to get hold of you for days but as usual we seem to keep missing each other.
Tommy: Are you high? What is this about?
Emily:(growing angry at the low blow) Maxie. It's about Maxie. But she's just the latest in a long list. Why DID you marry me, Tommy? Nevermind don't answer; it doesn't matter now. It's over.
Tommy:(dripping sarcasm) Because you say so.... the rich, spoiled Quartermaine princess speaks. Things get a little rocky and you move on
out. The rainforest, Thailand, anywhere but right here in Port Charles... right here in our marriage.
Emily: (overly calm) I'm not moving out. You are. I've made a list here where the dry-cleaning is ... things like that. I made a reservation for you at the Port Charles hotel. They're expecting you there tonight.
Tommy: YOU COLD LITTLE BITCH!
Emily: (her face pale except for the patches of red at her cheeks. Her eyes are slightly glassy from holding back tears) Listen buster-- I know two ways of doing this. We can be civilized and try to maintain a relationship for our friends, family and work. Or we can have war-- Quartermaine style. Anyway you want it. (Her hand closes around a vase that was a present from Tommy's father.) I've been around the Quartermaine divorce wars for two decades now; don't mess with me on this.
Tommy:(sneering) You don't have the guts.
Emily: (throwing the vase, which glances off Tommy's head as he ducks)
Your grandmother's crystal is next, you selfish bastard. GET OUT! I'll send your things to you. (Just then Lucky's voice can be heard down in the living room)
Lucky: Hey Em-- you ready to go over to Jerry's?
Tommy: (with dawning awareness) So that is what this is about... you've
been crawling between the sheets with your high school sweety again;
haven't you? You little whore.
Emily: (picking up a piece of stemware she flings it in her husband's
direction. The crystal shatters into tiny shards against the wall) I HATE YOU; I HATE YOUR NASTY LITTLE MIND AND I SAID TO GET THE HELL OUT OF MY HOUSE! (There is the sound of running footsteps as Lucky arrives in the doorway and takes in the scene at a glance)
Tommy:(smirks) She's all yours, Spencer. I'm done with her. (He stalks out.)
Lucky: (alarmed) What did he do? Are you all right? I'll kill him. (Lucky turns to follow Tommy)
Emily: LUCKY NO! Let him go-- please, just let it go. (Emily starts sobbing. Wrapping her arms around herself, she hugs herself tightly trying to hold back the tears. Lucky moves over to her and wrapping her in a warm embrace pulls her close. Emily shifts so that she can wrap her arms around him, giving in to her tears. Resting his head on top of hers, Lucky starts rubbing her back and swaying, offering comfort and allowing Emily to let it out.)

The Warehouse- Jerry's apartment.
Georgie: Hand it over! I want to see. (Cari hands over her brand new driver's license) Oh man, this is so cool; I remember when I got mine. My mom and Mac were alternating between total fear and relief 'cause they knew I would have been unbearable if I hadn't passed. Where's my camera?
Jerry: Now I feel really old. Georgie, you REALLY remember getting your license?
Georgie: Sure-- doesn't everyone?
Billy: Well that's incredibly ethnocentric of you, Georgie.
Georgie: Oh please! This is an event! Don't spoil the moment just cause you were raised on an island. (Georgie pulls out a Polaroid from the desk raising it over her head in triumph) Here it is! Okay Jerry and Cari together. Cari, hold up your license and hold out your hand toward your dad. Jerry, get out your car keys and hold them out to her... Okay like that. (Georgie starts snapping pictures.)
Jerry: Who are you taking pictures for anyway?
Georgie: Cari's mom, Laura, Mike and you. What else can we do to celebrate?
Cari: Well Lucky and Emily are planning on coming over...
Georgie: Great! A party! (Georgie puts the camera back and starts looking and waving the developing prints she'd been tossing on the desk as she was taking the pictures.) As soon as these develop we'll run them through the scanner and send them off to everyone. Do you think Staci will be jealous?
Cari: I don't know, but Lucky is convinced Nik will never let him teach Staci to drive now.
Jerry: I'm glad I was out of the country and missed the whole process.
Georgie: I wouldn't worry about it. Lucky will find a way; he always does...normally the long way but hey-- it's always a fun trip.
Jerry: Tell me again why you think its okay for Cari to be hanging around with this guy?
Georgie: (grabbing Jerry by the beard he had started to grow back since returning from the middle east, gives him a swift kiss on the mouth.) Sometimes you are such a dad.
Jerry: (Laughing) How am I supposed to argue with that? (He gives Cari a hug) Your mum will be so proud of you, darlin'. And I know she'd be here but she has to keep an eye on the family in Europe. As soon as everything gets back to normal...
Billy: (lifting a single eyebrow) Normal?

Just then there is the buzzer announcing someone at the entrance of the building. Cari answers the intercom and quickly buzzes Emily and Lucky up.
Lucky: You know, my sister owns this building I should get a free pass.
Georgie: But that defeats the purpose of keeping the undesirables out.
Lucky: Watch it brat! So where's the music? The lights? The smoke filled room?
Jerry: (ruefully) I think you're describing your own club.
Lucky: YOU'RE RIGHT! But this is where the action is, right Babe?
Cari: You bet! I think we have something in the fridge suitable for toasting. I'll get it and some glasses.
Billy: Somehow it seems horribly inappropriate to be toasting someone
getting their license with alcohol.
Cari: That's why it's sparkling cider. A quick toast with me then you old folks can break out the hard stuff. I'll be the designated driver.
Lucky: No way. You're my designated driver. I've never been one to share. ( Lucky runs a hand around Emily's waist and squeezes briefly.)
Emily: Why don't I help you with the glasses, Cari?
Cari: Thanks. (Once in the kitchen with Emily, Cari looks at her closely and sees the carefully applied makeup that almost covers the slightly swollen eyes.) Are you okay?
Emily: Yeah. I just had a rough day; this is exactly what I needed. (Changing the subject) Lucky was so excited when he was on the phone telling me you passed the test.
Cari: He really should have been a teacher. He's so good at it.
Emily: (starts giggling and can't stop) OH man you wouldn't say that if you knew what he was like back in High School. He was the king of the ditch and a master forger when it came to his father's signature.
Lucky: Who's telling tales? Babe, I've got the girl snowed; don't give away all my secrets.
Emily: Here, let me take that tray into the others. (Emily goes into the living room)
Cari: Is she okay?
Lucky: Yeah, she will be but let's just keep this between us. What's bothering Emily would bother Georgie too. Let's not bum everyone's good cheer. Did I tell you what a great driver you are, kid?
Cari:(kinda shyly) Yeah, you did. But now I believe you.
Lucky: Now you'll believe everything I say.
Cari: No way-- my mother told me ALL about you.
Lucky:(faking hurt) I'm wounded. But I'll take it up with Cassidy.
(Stringing an arm around her neck, Lucky and Cari walk back into the living room in time to pick up a glass and raise it for the toast. Emily has taken no more than a sip when her cell phone rings.)
Emily: This is Dr. Quartermaine...
Lucky: I love it when she does that...gets all official.
Emily: Evan? Evan Scorpio? ... This is a great connection. Where are you? ... OH MY GOSH! You're in PORT CHARLES?!! When did you get in? Where are you staying?
Lucky: Damn.

GH2017.70 Just My Luck

Wyndemere Breakfast time. Stefan and Laura enter holding hands. Nik looks up from the table, a frown on his face. Seeing who it is, he returns to his paperwork and coffee. Laura looks at Nik then at Stefan with some concern.
Stefan: Is everything in order, Nikolas?
Nik: Why do you ask?
Stefan: You seem...out of sorts.
Nik: (tersely) I'm fine. Leave it alone. (Rising, Nik gathers his papers and leaves the room.)
Stefan: Lasha, I'm going to have a little chat with Nikolas-- something is going on.
Laura: Let me know if I can help.
Stefan: (nodding) Of course, but let me try first. (Stefan follows Nik out of the room. Laura selects a few items from the breakfast buffet and pours herself some tea before seating herself and glancing at the front page of the Herald.)
Laura: THAT BITCH! (Lu and Staci are startled as they walk in by Laura's language.)
Lu: Gees Mom, what happened?
Laura: I'm sorry. I apologize for my language. But have you seen the front page yet?
Lu: Sorry no, let me see...(she reaches for the article that has her mother so upset.) Well, well, she strikes again. Mom, I really have to know-- did you do something to this woman that she would be so invested in a vendetta?
Laura: Not to my knowledge. But I'm sure getting canned didn't improve her disposition.
Staci: (looking over Lu's shoulder at the paper on the table groans.) Dad and Grandfather are going to implode. They even have a picture of me. You know, that's my high school photo; I wonder where she got it?
Laura: If it's from the school then Alexis will fry them. She's been salivating to go after that principal since he acted so arbitrarily suspending Stone.
Stone: What's my mom going to do now?
Lu: Take your principal apart and feed him to the fishes.
Stone: Nah... she likes ripping them apart in court and making them wish they were dead. (Stone focuses his attention on the breakfast buffet piling a plate high with goodies.)
Staci: (starting to bicker) Why don't you just take two plates?
Laura: Kids, knock it off! Stone, will you give your mother a call? Let her know about the front page, if she doesn't already. Staci, you might want to let Kris know he made the papers. Maybe he'll want to send a copy to his mother or something. (Sighing) And I was in such a good mood when I woke up this morning.

The club. Lucky Spencer has the first pot of coffee on for the day and is smoking a cigar. Turning to the bar he opens the Herald and is greeted by pictures of Staci, Cari and Kris. He begins to fluently curse Veronica Bowles and her antecedents.
Mike: (watching amused and ready to take notes) What's got your knickers in a knot?
Lucky: You still don't subscribe to the paper do you?
Mike: The day I buy a bird is the day I'll start getting the paper. Nothing but bad news in those things.
Lucky: ( holding up the paper so that Mike can see) And a good picture of your granddaughter. (Mike starts swearing)
Lucky: Yeah, right man... I think I already covered that ground. I had an idea this was coming. Bowles was dogging me all over town: the body shop, the DMV. I'd love to know who gave her the dirt. Staci's picture as well. Damn. Nik is going to freak. There are going to be reporters all over the launch and the warehouse.
Mike: Well... I was wondering why there was a TV van in front of the club?
Lucky: (shaking his head) What else can go wrong?
Mike: (concerned) What's going on?
Lucky: Emily finally gives Tommy boy his walking papers and Evan "the white knight" Scorpio shows up in town.
Mike: (confused) But you like Evan?
Lucky: Not right now. And if he thinks he is going to start with Emily again, he's going to be missing body parts. Friendship only extends so far. Emily's feeling vulnerable and she's not going to be looking up any old flames.
Mike: Except...
Lucky: Exactly. All this and I haven't had my coffee IV yet. It's more than a man can take.
Mike: ( shaking his head ruefully) I think you can bear up under the strain; one thing about you Spencer, you seldom make the same mistake twice... you keep finding new ones.
Lucky: Hey! I can get abuse anywhere. Don't start on me in my own club, man!
Mike: I'm standing on my half.
Lucky: Maybe, but the coffee pot's on mine.

Warehouse: Billy is down at the guard station picking up the newspaper. Looking out into the parking lot he sees a press presence he recognizes. Tucking the paper under his arm, he walks out to the parking lot.
Billy: Veronica? What are you doing here?
Veronica: (smiling) Billy, I was just about to ask you the same thing!
Billy: I'm living here. It's much more comfortable than the Port Charles hotel.
Veronica: (simpering slightly) But they have room service at the PC Hotel.
Billy: And I'll have to take you up on it sometime... but I'm staying with family here in town. You never said what you're doing? Anything I could scoop you on?
Veronica: Then I take it you haven't read the paper? Although with you living here, you might just be able to do the follow up. Do you think you could get me inside? Who are you staying? I thought everyone here had to be related to the Cassadine somehow? (Billy opens the paper and sees his sister's face. Quickly he scans the innuendo filled article that paints his sister as a joyriding adolescent who ought to be brought up on charges of vehicular homicide. His face goes blank momentarily before he puts his game face back on and looks up)
Billy: ( his eyes blank and his voice icy cold) I'm staying with my father and half sister... perhaps you've heard of her? Carida Jacks? (Veronica pales) Ms. Bowles, we have nothing to say to each other. Pray I'm never in the position to do to you what you did to my sister. Look into the Herald's position on retractions or suffer the consequences. ( Turning sharply, he reenters the building without looking back.)

Stefan's and Laura's suite in Wyndemere. Laura is working on some foundation correspondence when her husband comes in.
Laura: (looking up from her keyboard) Did you find out what was bothering Nikolas?
Stefan: (striding into the room with a feline grace unchanged by age.) No, he wasn't talking, but I did find this in the fax machine. (He hands Laura the copy of Brooke's itinerary) It is dated early this morning. Lasha, I'm going to see Brooke.
Laura: What about your promise to not interfere?
Stefan: I will keep my word. I am very fond of Brooke. There is some business I need to attend in city she is working in today anyway.
Laura: (shaking her head) Stefan...
Stefan: He is being stubborn and prideful.
Laura: (facetiously) Oh I wonder who he gets that from? It couldn't be from my side of the family.
Stefan: (giving her a kiss on the top of the head, his hands resting on her shoulders) Oh I wouldn't be too sure.
Laura: ( slapping one of his hand playfully) Both of them are on to your machinations, Darling. What do you think you can accomplish? And weren't you the one that didn't want to draw attention to Brooke?
Stefan: I will be discreet; I need to know what is happening.
Laura: That curiosity of yours...
Stefan: Admit it, Lasha-- You want to know also, especially if it affects your son's well being. ( Laura is silent.) I will be quick; I should be back by this evening. What will you do while I am gone?
Laura: Alexis is coming over. I'm going to check with the foundation in Russia to see if there are any changes.
Stefan: Good! Perhaps there will be good news when I get back. Try to keep Nikolas occupied while I'm gone. ( Kissing her goodbye, he strides from the room. Laura looks after him.)
Laura: I don't think that'll be a problem.

General Hospital Doctor's lounge. Emily and Gina sit across from each other. Gina watches Emily carefully as she stirs her latte listlessly.
Gina: Em, is there something wrong?
Emily: You really don't want to get into this one, Gina.
Gina: I tell you what; why don't you let me decide? I promise to tell you if it's too much for me to handle.
Emily: It 's the oldest story in the book but you know all the players. I kicked Tommy out of the house yesterday. Our marriage is over.
Gina: Oh Honey I'm so sorry! Are you okay? ( she winces) Sorry again, that was a stupid question. Is there anything I can do?
Emily: Gina, I don't want to put you in the middle.
Gina: Come on. I wouldn't have offered if I hadn't meant it. (reaching across the table to take her hand) You've always been there for me, unfortunately when I was in the same boat-- first with Nik and then with your brother. Don't you know by now that I may have divorced your brother but I kept my sister?
Emily: (her eyes filling with tears that do not fall) Thanks. I needed to hear that. I didn't know how much until just now. Tommy doesn't love me. I don't know if he ever did. I found him kissing Maxie Jones. But she wasn't the first... just the last.
Gina: (incensed) That son of a bitch!
Emily: (shrugging, then wipes her eyes with her free hand.) Actually
Simone was really nice. I tried to keep it civil with Tommy, but he
started calling me names and I lost it. I guess it didn't help that in the middle of telling him I was ending our marriage Lucky walked in. (Gina flinches and Emily notices.) Lucky and I have never done anything. I haven't been with anyone but Tommy since I married him.
Gina: Tommy has always seemed to be threatened by Lucky for some reason.
Emily: Yeah, but did I have to be the payback? The way of getting over on Lucky? Looking back I wonder what I was thinking to marry him.
Gina: You were thinking you were pregnant with his baby. (Emily is silent) Emily it WAS Tommy's baby; wasn't it? Ohmygod! It was Lucky's baby. It was Lucky's. Does he know?
Emily: (bitterly) Which one?
Gina: Either! Both.
Emily: Tommy knew. I tried to tell Lucky a million times over the last
seven years. I really needed him when I found out and when it all went
wrong. He wouldn't hear it. What can I say? I'm a coward; I couldn't push it.
Gina: Emily, I know you're hurting and it's going to hurt some more but you will get past this. This isn't your shrink talking; but experience. Have you contacted Justus yet?
Emily: No, it seems like everything is moving so fast. But I need to. Tommy was so ugly, Gina. I think that he's going to be nasty about this.
Gina: Then calling Justus is imperative. Let Justus deal with Tommy until he comes to his senses.
Emily: Do you think that Alexis is going to represent Tommy?
Gina: Talk about being in the middle. Is Lucky in the picture?
Emily: (blushing slightly) He's been very supportive.
Gina: Then I hope that Tommy is sensitive enough to hire someone else.
This could rip Alexis and Tom's marriage to shreds if it's put to the test. Lucky is the brother of the Cassadine, for goodness sake! And Jason and Alexis are closerthanthis after everything that they have been through together.
Emily:I just wish...
Gina: Wish what? That you could be back in your marriage?
Emily: (looking down thinking) No... I can't go back to that.
Gina: Well if back isn't an option then forward it is. I'll go with you after work if you like?
Emily: Thanks but this is something I need to do on my own.
Gina: (nodding but skeptical) I respect your feelings but isn't it kind of unrealistic? You're under Jason's wing right now because of the bombing. He's going to know whatever you do 2 minutes after you do it.
Emily: ( wincing) Then I better have lunch with Jason. He'll need to hear it from me. And I need to make it clear to him that I want Tommy unbruised and threat free when we go to court.
Gina: (shaking her head) You'll have you work cut out for you... you know how it is with older brothers....
Emily: Do I! I'm 33 years old and they still act like I'm thirteen! But if I ask, Jason won't put a hand on him. He'll watch Tom until he screws up and then pounce, AJ on the other hand...
Gina: Will let loose the rein of terror. IRS audit, car towed, subscriptions to perverse magazines sent to the work place, property value reassessed or condemned all together.
Emily: Did he do that to you?
Gina: Not to ME.
Emily: I told Tommy to be nice; I've had 20 years of Quartermaine divorce wars behind me And he wouldn't be able to handle what he stirs up. I don't think that he believes me.
Gina: (shrugging her shoulders) That's his problem as long as he doesn't try to mess with ELQ or try to take custody of the dogs.
Emily: In which case the gloves are off.
