GH2016.6 Meetings

The GH Boardroom: the door opens and everyone starts to exit. Alexis: Well
Keesha, we will miss you as counsel.
Keesha: Alexis, you and I both know that the doctors will be relieved too many
lawyers make them nervous.
Alexis: (laughing) True. This will actually keep me in town so that I can see more
of my husband. ( She looks over at Tom Hardy who is in conversation with Alan
Quartermaine about Med school business.)
Keesha: Looks like I had to get elected to see more of mine. DA and Police
Commissioner.
Alexis: Nobody has screamed conflict yet?
Keesha: Alex is stuck with Administrative and Policy decisions that keep him out
of the trenches these days. He hates it. I think he is marking time until he retires
and joins Mac and Felicia doing the detective work that he loves.
Alexis: You've reminded me of a phone call I have to make.
Keesha: Well I have to get to the courthouse. I'll talk to you later. (Keesha leaves)
Jason: Alexis, I was wondering if Stone was busy this weekend?
Alexis: I am just his mother but I don't think so... why?
Jason: Robin and I are going to the city this weekend to see Stefan and Kevin's
Show. I was wondering if Stone wanted to babysit? He is the only one that Anna
will mind. Mrs Landers will be there to put out any fires that he can't stop her
from starting.
Alexis: So she still has a crush on him? I'm glad I know that you are kidding
about the fires.
Jason: I caught her going solo down by the lake. You know Alexis, there are all
kinds of fires.
Alexis: True and you have helped me with his many times. I'll talk to him. How
much longer are you going to be sitting on the board? I know these things drive
you as crazy as they drive Nik.
Jason: Robin tells me that even though we have an AIDS vaccine that it hasn't
reached all the people that need it. Robin and Emily are planning to put together a
trip to Thailand next month. They were hoping that Georgie would go with them.
Alexis: I noticed that Carly had added a line item to her budget for translations. I
had not realized that there was going to be such a void.
Jason: The kid has an ear for languages I've been told. According to Robin, she
doesn't speak Thai but she does speak Chinese and French which would have
helped some. I've got to get home the kids will be out of school soon. Have Stone
call me. (Jason walks off and begins to swear as his cell phone starts ringing.)
Carly: Hello Alexis. How are you?
Alexis: Fine, now that it appears we have business almost out of the way. I
noticed that addition that was penciled into your budget. Is that really what it will
cost to replace one nurse?
Carly: I didn't realize myself until I started to crunch the numbers before the
meeting. The need doesn't come up that often but it was sure cheaper to have a
student nurse who spoke Russian, Chinese, Arabic, French and Spanish, And who
had medical know how.
Alexis: Nik will not be pleased that she has slipped through our hands.
Carly: I'm afraid that we will have to take this seriously. It has started all ready;
Georgie called this morning. She is off to do earthquake relief in China. I don't
know when she will be back on the schedule.
Alexis: That is interesting. I'm afraid I am no use to you, while I speak Russian,
Greek and French- medical terminology is a language I don't speak. (Both nod to
Alan and Monica as they leave.)
Carly: I didn't think that Monica would ever retire.
Alexis: I understand that she will still be lecturing but that the arthritis..
. Carly: Yes, she is planning on spending more time with her grandchildren and
getting Lila's rose garden in prize winning shape. I'll see you at the next meeting.
AJ has some meeting I need to get ready for. (Carly leaves)
Alexis: (turning to the remaining person in the room) Is this the only way I get to
see my husband?
Tom:(Grabs his wife into a hug while taking her briefcase from her weak hand)
Hey we were the reason the meeting started late; 'cause I was "seeing" my wife.
You have time for a long lunch?
Alexis: (reaching up places a hand on her husband's cheek) Unfortunately No. I
have to fill Nik in on all this. I'll be home at five though. Stone has football
practice tonight he won't be home until later.
Tom: I'll make sure I get out of work on time.

An hour later at Wyndemere.
Nik: So how did the board meeting go?
Alexis: As Always more was learned after the meeting than during.
Nik: Yes?
Alexis: Robin Morgan and Emily Hardy are planning a trip to Thailand next
month. Monica Q is retiring. Alan Q is taking over chair of the medical school.
Keesha has resigned as GH counsel. The strangest thing really was an increase in
the hospital budget.
Nik: Costs are rising. Nothing new there.
Alexis: Yes but this was a six figure increase due to the loss of one staff person...
a nurse.
Nik: (finally looking up from his computer) Really?
Alexis: One nurse who decided t cut back on her hours. She has evidently been
acting as the unofficial translator for the last four years. Now she wants to do
international relief work.
Nik: How noble of her. I think that she needs to stay full time at GH. What is her
name?
Alexis: Georgie Jones.
Nik: What?! I have a file on her. She has been Lu's best friend for years. (calls up
file on the screen) Yes, I see she graduated with a double in nursing and
international studies...Mother owns a restaurant and detective agency. Father is a
bit of a mystery but Georgie spent every summer with him. What languages does
she speak?
Alexis: According to Carly Quartermaine, she speaks Russian, Chinese, Arabic,
French and Spanish.
Nik: Diplomatic and trouble spot languages. I think I need to meet with Ms.Jones.
She may have just endangered my sister.
Alexis: She is out of town. Some earthquake in China. How did she endanger Lu?
Nik: Was there any other business?
Alexis: Just family.
Nik: yes?
Alexis: Jason Morgan wants Stone to babysit his kids this weekend.
Nik: Alexis, you know that personally I like Mr Morgan but I do not approve of
his business nor of the way he romanticizes Sonny Corinthos.
Alexis: Nik, Jason and I have talked. He thinks of Stone as family that is what
Sonny was to him. (laughing) Besides Jason has agreed to become a legitimate
business man full time as soon as they legalize everything he is into.
Nik: That is not funny, Alexis. I am trusting your judgment in this matter but
know that if anything happens to your son because of this association, the
consequences will be severe.
Alexis: (changing the subject) I saw Gina today. She got your flowers.
Nik: How is my wife?
Alexis: EX wife, Nik. Which brings up the last point of family business. Do you
want the list of prospective brides or should I give it to Stefan?

The Hardy residence 7pm. The door opens and a teenager enters. He has a wiry
build with curly dark hair cut short and chocolate brown eyes.
Stone: Mom I am home. What is for dinner? (Stone walks in to the living room
where his mother and step father are sitting on the couch in casual attire.) I see
that you guys are in for the night.
Alexis: Yes. Tom and I are "vegging out." (Stone rolls his eyes at the slang two
decades out of usage) Stone when did you get so tall? I swear you are at least
four inches taller than your father was.
Stone: (heading to kitchen) Vitamins mom.
Alexis: Don't start snacking. We waited for you.
Stone: right. You probably both got home about 20 minutes ago.
Alexis (looking over at Tom's sudden grin) I talked to your uncle Jason today. He
wants you to call him. I think he has a job for you this weekend.
Stone: Job. Right. he probably wants me to babysit. He never gives me anything
but babysitting jobs.
Alexis: He told me that you are the only one that can control Anna. Sweetheart,
you probably don't know it but that was the way that Jason started working for
your father: Babysitting and running errands.
Tom: (muttering into his paperwork) yeah right. (then louder to Stone) If it is a
babysitting job that will work out okay. Your mother and I are going into the city
to see the Collins/Cassadine show. Mrs Landers is a better cook than your mother
anyway. (Stone and Tom exchange laughing glances)
Alexis: That is it. I am not cooking anymore. You two are not going to team up on
me. If you are both such gourmands then you can cook for me... (she seats herself
at the dining room table and folds her arms)
