GH2016.5 A Knock On The Door

A telephone rings inside the apartment of Georgie, Brooke and Lu. Georgie who is
home alone picks up the phone. The line disconnects and the doorbell rings.
Georgie: Who is it?
Voice: (with a faint Aussie accent) Frisco sent me.
Georgie: (opening door) And you are?
Jerry: Jerry Jacks. I understand that you are up for an assignment.
Georgie: That was fast. I only talked to Mr. Jones two days ago. What have you
got for me?
Jerry: Here's the materials. (noting the moving boxes) Nice place you have here;
just move in? (Georgie nods and keeps reading) Mind if I start a fire?
Georgie: Go ahead. There is fresh coffee in the kitchen. You want to take a
language specialist to Idaho?
Jerry: (from the kitchen) Keep reading, it gets good. We'll be gone 2-4 weeks.
How are you going to cover?
Georgie: Don't know yet. Look at page two of the Herald it is on the table. So this
group is exporting terrorism to further white supremist goals? What is our cover?
Jerry (handing her the paper) Well darlin' I figure we can go in as an old married
couple. This group runs like the old biker gangs of old: scaggy looking men and
gorgeous woman who are seen and not heard.
Georgie: Eyes open and mouth shut.
Jerry: A good first assignment. Are you done reading the file? (Georgie hands it
over and Jerry feeds it into the fire) So what is your cover for here? (Georgie
scans a map covered with pictographs on page 2)
Georgie: Earthquake, Hunan province of China. It is a big one, should take a long
time to clean up. International red Cross should cover it. I am not on the schedule
at work for the rest of the week. Let me make a phone call. PerDiem work is
interesting basically you are a floater filling in where needed. If they don't have
me then they call another perdiem or an agency will fill in. (on phone) Mrs
Quartermaine this is Georgie Jones. Yes, I have been called to help out earthquake
relief in China. I don't know how long it will take. I am not on the schedule for
the rest of the week. Yes Ma'am I'll call you as soon as I am back in Port Charles.
Thank You. (hangs up phone)
Jerry: Pack a small bag strictly necessaries. I have wardrobe for you in the car.
Georgie: I'll leave a note.

Over at General Hospital in a doctor office a blonde in her late thirties is laying on
a couch. Her Shoes are kicked off and her forearm covers her eyes. There is a
knock on the door.
Gina: Come in.
Alexis: (leaning in the doorway) Aren't you a little old for naps?
Gina: I am taking an inventory of my feelings. Check out the desk. (on the desk is
a large floral arrangement of what Alexis knows are Gina's favorite flowers)
Alexis: May I? (she refers to the card, Gina nods and Alexis reads aloud) HAPPY
ANNIVERSARY GINA. OUR LIFE TOGETHER BRINGS MANY MEMORIES
AND A BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTER. Nik.
Gina: I do not understand that man. I have never understood that man. We have
been divorced longer than we were married and he sends me flowers on our
wedding anniversary.
Alexis: How long have we known each other?
Gina: I was an attendant at your wedding and you were one at mine. I have never
understood your family and things got really strange after Nik took over as head
of the family.
Alexis: You were 22 when you married Nik. I had been raised to marry his father,
trained even as a child in my responsibilities to the family. The only reason I did
not marry Stavros was because he chose Laura. There was no way that Laura and I
could prepare you.
Gina: And have me still marry him.
Alexis: And have you still marry him. Even if we had told you everything though I
don't think that you would have believed us.
Gina: No, I probably wouldn't have. Come on - this is Port Charles, New York
and I am no Princess Di.
Alexis: Bad example. I know that part of the problem was him always trying to
protect you. I heard that you were upset about him refusing to let you and Staci
attend Helena's funeral.
Gina: It was Nik's Grandmother.
Alexis: (voice growing cold) She was the woman who ordered my death and killed
my husband and Luke Spencer. Nik would never have allowed you or Staci to
have any part of her. He protects you even now.
Gina: She did what?! (thinking a moment) You know that he ended my marriage to
AJ when he set AJ up to be caught with campaign workers after an election?
Alexis No, I didn't know but it doesn't surprise me. Gina, whatever it says on
that plaque on your door; you are a Cassadine and will be until the day you die.
