GH2017.29 There's Got To Be A Morning After

Spoon Island: Brooke has arrived to sit for Stefan. Before beginning they
sit at the table having a breakfast buffet and rehashing the night before

Brooke: Well things are in chaos over at the apartment...Lu says I missed a
brawl last night ( she looks at Stefan inquiringly)
Stefan: It was over fairly quickly. Leslie Lu did a remarkable job
handling the situation.
Laura: (just entering the room) did you tell her that?
Stefan: well she seemed to be in a ...snit after the football coach left.
Brooke You are Kidding... the football team! I didn't see a thing in the
papers!
Stefan: ( puffing up a bit with pride) Leslie Lu handled the whole thing:
no police intervention, no press-- quite capable!
Nik: I'm glad you thought so. ( Nik stands in the doorway observing the
three at the table)
Laura: Oh my gosh Nik your face ( and then she holds his hands and examines
them) and your poor hands. Why didn't you wake me up last night?
Nik: Lu had already tended them. I believe she learned her technique from
you. I don't think I could have handled it twice.
Laura: ( looking carefully at her son) Then she must have believed that
the injuries were self inflicted....What happened last night? ( looking
between Stefan and Nik neither of whom is talking)
Brooke: Well Lu didn't have that much to say but she did say that Lucky and
Mike were both there. ( Nik glares at Brooke who falls silent and studiously
begins to eat the fruit she had taken from the buffet)
Laura: Where was Staci? She was working last night.
Brooke: Back room evidently.
Staci: I missed the whole thing. ( entering the room and filling a
breakfast plate from the buffet)
One second Mike is pounding on his table with a stick the next I am in the
backroom waiting and listening until the all clear was given.
Laura: well I am glad you missed it, baby. How could you be brawling in
front of your daughter?
( turning to Stefan) and where were you?
Nik: behind the bar taking notes.
Stefan: Not so Nikolas, I was with Leslie Lu in case you created a problem
for her.
Nik: ( snorting) Lu was doing just fine. She didn't have a mark on her;
I, on the other hand , could have used some assistance.
Laura: I see that I am going to have to make some phone calls to find out
the truth of the situation. ( she rises to invite Lu, Lucky and Mike over
for brunch. few minutes pass before she returns) I invited Lu and Georgie
over but Lu said that Georgie was not home.
Brooke: She wasn't there when I left this morning.
Stone: ( entering the room) Nobody told me there was a party going on?
Laura: It seems to be turning into one. Stone, why don't you call your
mother and Tom and invite them to brunch.
Stone: ( turning to the phone sees Nik for the first time) WOW what
happened to you?
Nik: There was a disagreement at the club last night.
Stone: A disagreement? How come when I get into a fight I get arrested,
grounded and suspended from school?
Stefan: Control. Both of you had legitimate reasons for fighting. Stone,
you were out of control and unthinking. Your cousin, also while defending a
lady's honor, first assessed the situation and then acted; he allowed his
opponent the option of retreat and surrender.
Laura: ( Pouncing on a new clue) Defending a lady's honor?
Lu: ( who had just arrived and was taking off her coat and handing it to a
servant) One of those yahoos was trying to stop Georgie from leaving last
night. But those guys used Georgie as an excuse. They were looking for a
fight.
Laura: Where is Georgie?
Lu: She stayed the night at a friends house. She called this morning she
thought I might be worried. which I was. I swear ever since she got back
from China I have hardly seen her. And then this whole Saunders mess has
got to be freaking her out.
Stone: She came by one night while I was sleeping.
Nik: What? When did this happen?
Stone: Last week the night before Saunders was arrested. ( Nik recalls
the night that Georgie had returned late to the apartment with a disc of
information from Saunders computer.)
Brooke: I understand how Saunders is messing with Stone, Anna and their
families but what does he have to do with Georgie? ( there is no response
from the table) I am getting that mushroom feeling again.
Laura: I am getting a similar sensation. (Looking hard at Stefan and Nik)
Nik: Georgie is under the protection of the Cassadine. And she has been
told so.
Lu: I bet that went over like a ton of bricks. Nik, to quote daddy from
last night, don't bite off more than you can consume readily. Unlike Staci
and me, Georgie is not used to you interfering in her life. You will have
an easier time taking on the offensive line PCU again this time with out
Lucky's help.
Laura: Lucky was fighting too?
Lu: I believe the phrase was "I couldn't let Nik have all the fun."
Laura: where did I go wrong? ( Glancing to the heavens as if asking for
Divine intervention)
Lucky: ( he and Mike just arriving) Couldn't tell you, mom. Until last
night you could have blamed it on the Spencer blood but with the fight, it
must be something from your genetic pool! Staci was looking kind of blood
thirsty too... really disappointed by being kept out of the fray. ( he
ruffles his nieces hair) Even Lu dropped one of the guys.
Stone: Staci was there? How come she was there?
Lucky: She works there but no one knows it and keep it that way. Family
Business, kid.
Stone: ( turning to Nik) How come she can have a job and I can't?
Alexis: (entering with Tom) You do have a job; you work for Jason when he
needs you. You babysit Anna and Michael and I am sure that Jason is
grateful that you do. ( the table falls silent)
Stefan : (changing the subject somewhat) The owner of the WVPC has decided
to sell me the station.
Brooke: Won't you have a problem with the FCC over that. I mean, because
you are not a citizen of the US? I mean, Mom told me that there was a lot
of paperwork when she and daddy bought those radio stations out in Vegas.
Stefan: True, but I will not be the listed owner of the station. Stone
will be.
Stone: What?!
Stefan: It was your name that was slandered. Veronica Bowles will soon
learn the meaning of Timoria.
