GH2017.18 Promises

Happy New Year! As this story takes place 20 years in the future the title
has been changed to reflect the flip of the calendar.

Morgan residence early in the morning. A single light is on in the living
room where Gina Williams sits reading and waiting for Jason Morgan's return.
As she hears a car pull up she goes to the front door to turn on the porch
light and waits for him to come inside.

Jason : Where is Anna?
Gina: She and Michael are both asleep. She is not too happy with me
tonight. I took her to the hospital and they gave her a complete checkup.
The blood work wont be back for a while but Jason, she is okay. Stone
handled it just right. When Anna started to tell him what had happened he
knew he was in over his head and brought her to me and Alexis.
Jason: Have you been able to get hold of Robin?
Gina: I've been trying the number you have for her and there has been no
luck. I called the company and they said that there may be interference due
to her being up in the mountains.
Jason: Anna is going to need her. Hell- I need her home. I'm going to call
Lucky.
Gina: It is 4 am!
Jason: Well, then he won't be asleep yet. (Jason picks up the phone and
calls the Spencer house where the call is answered on the first ring.)
Lucky...Jason Morgan, I need Robin home now. She has been out of contact
due to some mountain interference....
Lucky: What is the emergency?
Jason: Anna was assaulted. I'd go get Robin myself but I need to stay with
the kids.
Lucky: Is she okay?
Jason: I don't know. She is asleep. Gina says she is. I really don't
want Robin to hear this over the phone anyway.
Lucky : I can be ready to go in 30 minutes.
Jason : I'll have the jet ready to go. A car will be there to pick you up
in 30minutes. What is the time difference in Thailand ? Never mind.. I'll
have an embassy employee at the airport on the other end to smooth any
paperwork difficulties.
Lucky: Man, you are wasting time; let me get off the phone. If I have any
questions I'll call you from the plane.
Jason: Right (hangs up and makes the calls to his driver and his pilot to
get the ball rolling)
Gina: And I thought being a doctor was a 24/7 job.
Jason: Lucky is a night owl it is better that I wasn't trying to get hold
of himduring the day. At 4pm his blood is barely pumping.
Gina: Speaking of that can I get you anything a drink or a cup of coffee?
I put a pot on when you called.
Jason : I think this will be an all nighter. If Anna is feeling all right
then she will be up in a few hours anyway.
Gina: (they move to the kitchen) Jason, let her tell you in her own way.
And for God sake don't show her how angry you are; she will think you are
angry at her.
Jason: I want that things name and I want him dead.
Gina: I know. unfortunately that was Stone's reaction too. Alexis had to
bail him out of jail tonight on Assault charges. You said it yourself you
have to be here for the kids and for Robin and you can't fly off the handle.
Jason: (glares at Gina but takes a deep breath) Fine. since Stone was only
charged with Assault I guess it will live for another day. Maybe longer if
Garcia can get hold of it before me or my guys can get hold of him.
Gina: It wasn't for lack of trying believe me, Jason. Stone had to be
pulled off of the guy by four others. And he did it in front of a stadium
of witnesses and evidently the press. You'll be able to read about it in
the morning paper only it will be all about Stone's arrest and not the
reason why. The press were already at the jail when Alexis went to bail him
out. She called me from the jail to get the kids away from her house
because she knew that was the press' next stop.
Jason : Where did she take Stone?
Gina: To Wyndemere. The security is better there.
Jason: Gina , you should go home and try to get some sleep.
Gina: (smiling tiredly) Okay if you promise me that you will not do
anything rash.
Jason: You said it your self; Anna needs me. I am going to be here and if
I leave the kids will be with me; my kids will never have to see that thing
again.
Gina: Jason, Anna will see him again when this goes to court.
Jason: This isn't going to court.

Five hours later at the Hardy residence. The house has a siege appearance
to it. The curtains are pulled to stop the prying eyes of the media that
mass across the street and blocking the sidewalk.
A compact car drives slowly through the news vans and pulls into the
driveway. Maxie Jones exits the car and studiously ignores the calls,
cameras, and microphones as she makes her way to the front door. She knocks
briefly and waits for a response from inside the house.

Tom: Maxie, come in. come in . I can't believe you made it through those
vultures.
Maxie: Is Stone here or Alexis?
Tom: Stone is at Wyndemere and Alexis is on the phone to the principal of
the high school. He evidently decided to pursue disciplinary action on
Stone after reading his morning paper. Why don't we have some coffee while
we wait for her to get off the phone. (As the two head toward the kitchen
they hear Alexis' raised voice)
Alexis: No, you don't understand. When the facts of this case are revealed
you will apologize to my son and I will own a piece of this school
district for the negligence you have shown in the care of your pupils...Do
not bother to make your little report a permanent part of my son's record
because you will be removing it and this suspension will never show either.
Good Day SIR. ( Alexis joins Tom and Maxie in the kitchen.) I am so
furious. He will not bother to get the facts before he does what he
perceives will cover his backside. Maxie how can you work with that man?
Maxie: ( with an ironic smile) biofeedback and creative visualization.
Alexis: Honey, are you okay ? You look as if you have been crying.
Maxie: I have. A lot. I was at the game last night. I saw everything. I
heard everything Stone said until they put him in the back of the police
car. Officially I am here to give Stone his homework assignments for the
period of suspension. If you want Staci can act as a relay for his
assignments. There is no reason for Stone to fall behind because of this.
Tom: An unofficially?
Maxie: ( looks out the window at the snow covered back yard and the barren
trees it is a few moments before she speaks. and as she does she continues
to look out the window.) I became a teacher because I love reading I used
to read all the time. Romance, fantasy, science fiction, fiction ,
nonfiction everything I could get my hands on I still do. Throughout
history there are stories normally from the warrior peoples: the Maori of
New Zealand, the Vikings, the highlanders even ( looking at Alexis briefly
before looking back out the window) the cossacks. The stories tell of
warriors who are so consumed with rage that they will not stop, berzerkers.
That was Stone last night. They pepper sprayed him and he kept on. Four
grown men, football coaches, had to pull him off of Bruce last night and
then it was like a switch had been turned and he had no reaction... none at
all but I could, even from a distance, still feel the rage pouring off of
him. He's dangerous. He can never allow himself to get that angry again.
(Alexis starts to interrupt) And yet I wish he had killed Bruce.
Tom: Maxie, what are you saying? (Maxie looks over at the man who had
been like a father to her in so many ways and for so many years and the
tears begin to fall again silently streaming down her face as she turns away
and looks again out the window)
Maxie: Georgie called last night...she'll be home today. (A long pause )
I was upset by what I had seen when she called. I told her all about it. I
told her the things that Stone had been yelling. She knew it was Saunders;
she knew before I told her. She knew because he had done the same thing to
her when she was Anna's age.
Tom: Oh my God, Georgie.
Maxie: That kind of monster does not happen over night. Even if Georgie
was his first victim and Anna his last; there are fifteen years in between.
Fifteen years he has been teaching at the grade school and turning down
promotions that would take him out of the classroom. Fifteen years he has
been the youth group leader at our church. Fifteen years of victims, Alexis.
Alexis: And they are all out there. Georgie never said a word?
Maxie: Not until last night. He must be slipping. He picked a child that
told. Georgie told me to tell you. She will support however you want to
use the information including making a statement for the police and the
District Attorney. Tom, Mom doesn't know yet; Georgie wants to tell her
herself.
Tom: Ofcourse. But if Georgie or Felicia need to talk have them call me.
This may bring it all up again for Georgie; stuff that she has buried and
not dealt with.
Maxie: Thank you. I'll let them know. Alexis, give Stone my best and tell
him I'll see him soon. (Maxie silently goes to the front door and shuts it
firmly behind her ignoring the cameras that are focused on her tearstained
face as she starts her car and drives away)

Wyndemere: A man and two small children approach the island in a small
launch where they are greeted by a security guard.
Jason: I'm Jason Morgan and I am here to see Stone Corinthos.
Guard: I'm sorry no visitors to the island except family.
Jason: Call Nik Cassadine and tell him who is here. He will see us. ( the
guard checks in and receives a go ahead for the Morgans to proceed)
Michael, Anna stick close to me and for gosh sake stay away from the water
it is too cold for swimming! ( taking the two children by the hand he walks
up to the house where Stone is waiting for him.
Stone: Anna, Michael come to check out my cousins house? There are lots of
secret doors and spooky passages.
Anna: I'm mad at you. You didn't come back to the house and you didn't
bring back the marshmallows.
Stone: I know. I'm sorry; I got in a fight before I could get back with the
marshmallows but the housekeeper here makes hot chocolate and she likes kids
so she makes cookies and stuff how would you like that, baby girl?
Anna: I AM not a baby. And Daddy says that fighting is bad.
Michael: Are you grounded?
Stone: ( smiling and shaking his head) You are too smart. Yes, I am
grounded; I have to stay on this island until my cousin and mom say I'm not
anymore. Infact I am not even allowed to go to school but instead they are
making me have tutors and it is a lot harder than school.
Staci: (coming outside and noticing the company for the first time) Hi, I'm
Staci, Stone's cousin
Michael: Are you the one that grounded Stone?
Staci: (looking at Stone) No, that was my dad. ( looking at Jason she can
tell that he wants to have a word with Stone privately) Stone, you have not
given your guests hot chocolate and cookies- what kind of host are you?
Please come with me . (she reaches her hands out the children who look at
their father and then take her hands to be led to the promised treats)
Jason: Where is Nikolas?
Stone: In the Study.
Jason : Lets go talk. Have you told your cousin what happened yet?
Stone: Not really.
Jason: Well lets only do this once. How long can Staci keep the kids occupied?
Stone: Long enough. ( the two walk into the study where Nik is reading.
Nik closes his book and waits as the two seat themselves and Stone begins to
speak. The two men listen without question until Stone finishes )
Jason: So everyone in the holding cell knows who this guy is? ( Stone nods)
how many were in there?
Stone: About 15. why?
Jason: I don't know if you were still going on instinct or what, but I
couldn't have done it better myself. I was planning on having one of my
guys arrested to do just what you did. There is not a block in that jail
now that does not know who he is and what he did. Even if Garcia gets to
him before I do, he is a dead man.
Stone: I told the guys in holding that I didn't care if he got a fair
trial, I didn't care if he ever came to trial.
Jason: This is not going to trial. Anna is never going to have to see that
waste of air again. It will become clear to him very quickly that his only
hope of survival is a quick guilty plea because if he is on the street I'll
take him out and if he decides to take this to trial he'll die in jail.
Nik: you can arrange that?
Jason: I don't have to. Your cousin just did it for me. (looking at Stone)
Robin and I loved your father and considered him a brother. I have always
considered you family; in my gut I knew you were someone I could trust with
my life because that is what Robin and the kids are to me. You have more
than lived up to that trust. If you ever need anything, anytime, anywhere;
I'll get it for you.
