GH2011.7: RESCUE MISSION
After hours of pouring over paperwork, Jason rubs his eyes wearily as the
words in front of him start running together. Robin enters his study
silently, sees him taking a break, sneaks up behind him and wraps her
arms around his chest. She kisses his neck sensuously.
He turns around to face her and smiles before pulling her into his lap
and kissing her deeply. She starts giggling, "My favorite kind of greeting
from my husband! I should sneak up on you more often."
"You can do anything you want to, Mrs. Morgan," Jason says with a deep
growl. He stands up, with Robin in his arms and starts to take her into
the bedroom.
Then his phone rings. Robin buries her head in his chest, "Do you really
have to answer that?" she protests.
He puts her down gently, "Yeah, but I'll make it short," he says, quickly
kissing her again.
He watches as she walks teasingly into their bedroom before answering,
"Yeah?"
Mark's anxious voice greets him at the other end, "Hey Jason. Good,
you're there. Dickerson just called from New York. Tracy put a hit out
on Lisa. She tried to put one on you, but nobody's willing to act on
it."
Jason sighs slightly, Tracy's more of an annoyance to him than anything
else. But Lisa is much more vulnerable. "I'll have security beefed up
here, just in case. I want extra people put on Lisa; she's in no condition to
watch out for herself. The only people I want allowed in to see her are
myself, Lucky and Lu Spencer. I also want a guard put in her room.
Anyone that looks new or unfamiliar, don't let them in. Put the word out
on the street that Lisa is under my protection. "
"Will do."
"Let me know if you hear anything else, Mark. Also, call me when Lucky
gets back in town. He's running a very personal and sensitive errand for
Lisa, so he'll probably head straight for the hospital. Laura Cassadine
is with him. She's okay to see Lisa too."
"Anything else?" Mark asks.
"Just keep me informed," Jason says before hanging up.
He walks into the bedroom, where Robin has changed into a slinky black
negligee. "Where did we leave off?" she asks huskily.
He wraps his arms around her, pulling her tightly to him, "Right about
here, I'd say." He picks her up and carries her effortlessly to the bed,
his kisses ravishing her as if for the first time.

Lucky and Laura sit patiently outside the house where Zachary is being
held. It isn't long before Jason's man, Carlson, comes out to the car.
"The house is secure. You can go in anytime."
They get out of the car and walk briskly up to the door. Sharing a quick
smile with his mother, Lucky knocks on the door. They don't wait for an
answer before brazenly entering.
The gangly fellow with a British accent meets them at the door. "Who do
you think you are?" the man says irately. "This is a private residence!
I should call the local constabulary and have you arrested for
trespassing!" he blusters, knowing exactly who they are and who they
came for.
"I believe you've been expecting us," Lucky says strongly. "We're here
to pick up the Smith child."
"I..I..I don't know what you're talking about," the man stammers. "We
don't have any children here."
Laura gets up in his face, her eyes glittering with challenge, "You're
lying," she says smoothly.
Just then, they all hear the baby screaming. Lucky grabs the guy by his
collar and slams him against the wall, "No kids, huh?" he challenges
through gritted teeth. "You lying sonofa...!"
Carlson, comes in from the back, having personally rechecked the house
thoroughly. "Spencer, the kid's back here."
"Show me," Laura says.
"This way," Carlson says, leading Laura into another room.
Lucky slams Maxwell against the wall again for good measure, "You
messed with the WRONG people, Man! Do you have any idea what
Morgan will do to you? That's if I don't decide to take care of you
myself!"
Carlson comes back in the room. Lucky hands Maxwell over to him like
filthy garbage, "You know what to do." Lucky starts to head back to
Laura.
Maxwell calls after him, "Just take the stupid little brat! All he does
is scream anyway."
Lucky just shakes his head and goes back to where Laura stands next to
the crib of a hysterical Zachary. His face is a blotchy red, and his
breath comes in choking, gasping sobs. Lucky's alarmed at seeing his
nephew like this, his young face covered in tears. "What's wrong with
him?"
Laura shakes her head in horror, "Nothing that I can see, yet. My guess
is that he misses his mommy and has been left alone to scream in his crib.
Those men should be shot for letting him get to this state!" She turns
to Zachary and opens her arms to him, "Poor Zachary. You miss you
mommy, don't you?" To Laura's surprise, Zachary wraps his chubby arms
around her neck and holds on for dear life. Only then does he begin to
quiet. Laura's face melts as she looks down smiling at him. She glances
back at Lucky, "Oh, he's such a sweetheart. How old did Lisa say he
was?"
"Fourteen months." Lucky leans down to look at Zachary over his
mother's shoulder, "Hey there Zack, buddy, I'm your Uncle Lucky. I
know your momma."
Zachary sniffles and gives Lucky a watery smile, melting Lucky's heart.
"You're a real trooper, but don't worry Buddy," Lucky says to him,
"We're gonna take ya to see your Momma. You wanna go see momma?"
"Momma?" Zachary repeats, his tears stopping.
Lucky smiles broadly, "Yep, your Momma." Lucky opens his arms to
Zack, who reaches back for him instantly. Gently taking Zack from Laura,
he says softly, "Let's go home."
Without another word, they take the car back to the airport and board the
jet bound for Port Charles. Once they are on their way, Lucky speaks, "I
can't believe they just neglected him like that," he says as he holds
Zachary close to him. He looks over at his mother, "Thanks for everything,
Mom. I don't have a clue about babies."
Laura watches how naturally Lucky holds Zachary. She squeezes his arm
reassuringly, "I think you're doing just fine, Lucky," she says, smiling.
Lucky glances down at the child in his lap and ponders what might have
been...
~~~~
Lucky stands outside the door to the gatehouse, pounding on it anxiously,
"Hey Em, it's me, Lucky. I know you're home, Babe. Open up, or do I
have to get pebbles to throw at your window again?"
She opens the door slowly, smiling slightly, "Hi Lucky."
She steps aside and lets him in. Tommy stands up and walks over to join
Emily by the door. Lucky looks at Tommy, "Hey Tommy, what are you
doing here?"
Emily gives Tommy a glance that keeps him from saying anything. She
adds, "Tommy, would you mind? I need to talk to Lucky alone."
Tommy nods, "I understand, Em. Congratulations." He gives her a brief
kiss on the cheek while Lucky stares on.
Lucky crosses over and sits on the sofa. As soon as she shuts the door,
Emily quickly walks over to where Lucky is sitting. "Lucky, I've been
trying to catch up with you. Mike was the one that had to tell me that
you were out of town. We really need to talk."
"Sure, Babe, what's up?"
Emily sighs softly and sits next to him. "I have news. Lucky, I found
out I'm pregnant." She looks at him expectantly, hopefully.
He looks over to her, floored by shock, "A baby? You're going to have a
baby?"
She nods, then rushes through her next words, "I don't expect anything
from you, Lucky. I don't want to tie you down. I know how you like to
take off at a moment's notice. I completely understand if you don't want
to be saddled with the baby. I just wanted to be honest with you up
front. I thought you deserved to know."
"A baby?" he repeats, still dumbfounded. He looks at her stomach in
amazement, then reaches out and touches it lightly, "A baby, you're
having MY baby?"
Emily laughs slightly, tears forming at the corner's of her eyes, "Yes,
yes, it's your baby. Our baby."
Lucky busts out laughing, "YEAH!" he whoops. "Woo hoo! I can't
believe it! I'm gonna be a dad! Wow! This is great, Babe!" He grabs
her and pulls her towards him, showering her face and neck with kisses. He
looks at her with eyes only of love, "Em, I could never feel tied down by
you. I love you, you're everything to me. And a baby's a blessing, not
a burden. Marry me, Emily, marry me."
Her body melts against his, "Oh Lucky, I love you too. Always. And yes,
I'll marry you!"
~~~~
"Lisa's going to be thrilled to see Zachary," Laura says quietly, while
watching him cuddle in Lucky's arms.
Laura's statement brings Lucky back to reality. With his free hand, he
wipes away the tears that threaten to spill over. "Yeah, she is," he
says softly, still wishing things were different between him and the love of
his life. He looks down at Zachary indulgently, "Your momma can't wait to
see you, Buddy!"
Zack looks from Lucky to Laura, then claps his hands in delight and
exclaims, "Momma!"
